Betfair puts its Maltese license to use
12.10.2005Online gambling licencing authorities on the Mediterranean island of Malta have announced that the British P2P betting exchange group Betfair is to open a branch on the island this week.
Having obtained a licence to operate in Malta earlier this year, the move will allow Betfair to offer new player-to-player games to their customers.
Betfair is a pioneer of P2P betting and one of the world's top online betting companies, reporting annual revenues of GBP107.1 million in 2004, with over three million transactions a day, and over 12 000 bets a minute during big sports matches. In business since 2000, the group has won several awards for excellence, including Company of the Year in 2004 by the Confederation of British Industry.
