Gala Bingo update
Further to our earlier report on the sudden demise of Gala Bingo, we now have a little more detail on the happenings at this group.
It appears that Gala operated two online casinos:
Gala Casino.co.uk powered by St Minver, and
Gala International.com by Boss Media.
The accounts at galacasino.co.uk were transferred to St Minver-powered VIP Casino Club.co.uk recently.
It now appears that the Boss Media-powered Gala International.com casino is to close down on February 8, according to emails received by several regular players.
On the website there is an advisory telling the world at large that a brand new online casino will be launched by Gala, using an unspecified gambling software that will provide over 60 casino games, monthly GBP 25 bonuses, competitions and "huge progressive jackpots."
Gala was left without an operational bingo website last week after it terminated its contract with provider St Minver.
A notice on the Galabingo site notified players the site was "going through a major upgrade" and a new site would not be launched until February.
The notice continues: "This is a significant development which has meant we have parted company with St Minver, our former bingo partner. As such we regret you are unable to play bingo with us until next month, and ask for your patience and understanding until then." Industry insiders suggested the move has come about since Gala acquired Coral Eurobet, which has its own bingo site and software.
