01.10.2005 The UK and Australian press has carried speculative articles this week that online poker and casino giant Party Gaming may be pursuing a takeover bid on betting exchange leader Betfair. It sounds an unlikely development, given Party Gaming's (owner of Party Poker )shares hammering recently, and InfoPowa has not been able to obtain confirmation of the story so far.
The reports suggest that PG will bid around GBP 800 million for Betfair, which was recently named as the seventh fastest-growing technology company in Britain, and rumoured to be about to launch a high value IPO on the London stock exchange.
