Fantastic freebie

News on 7 May 2010

This was a good week for a 43-year-old housewife from Melbourne, Australia, who got the surprise of her life last Sunday when she won $74 070 at an online gambling site….whilst playing the free games – or so she thought.
A Mansion group press release reports that ‘Lisa’, a confirmed free games fan, mistakenly logged into her husband’s real money account at Casino.com.  This genuine error had the potential to be disastrous, but turned out to have a happy ending.
The mother of two won her first $920 after 20 minutes of playing, and still under the impression she was playing for free, she prolonged the action for another 40 minutes.
Then the big $74 070 win came up, and she realised for the first time that she had been playing for real. After realising what had happened, she quickly called her husband to fill him in on the exciting news. Once over the initial shock of the story, he managed to forgive her mistake and took her out to celebrate.
What is not clear from the story is whether Lisa broke the casino rules by playing on her husband’s account, but it appears that Casino.com has paid up, certainly benefiting from the widespread free publicity which the incident has generated.
When asked about her remarkable win, Lisa replied, “I definitely won’t be quitting my job as a mom. This is something I want to do no matter what. Having the extra money though will certainly make things easier for us now.”
