Betdigital awarded British Gambling Commission licence

News on 23 Aug 2014

Betting content and systems developer Betdigital has been awarded a Remote Gambling Software Operating Licence by the UK Gambling Commission, and joins a select few suppliers that have the necessary licensing to meet the terms of Britain’s new Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) Act ahead of October’s introduction.

The Act requires operators who provide remote gambling services to British consumers to acquire a UK licence. These operators in turn will require their suppliers to be licensed in the UK from January 2015.

A spokesman for the company said that Betdigital comfortably met all the criteria, poisitioning it strongly to plan for a future in the British online and mobile gambling market.

The company has clients that include William Hill, Ladbrokes and Gala Coral for popular products like Super Pots Bar-X, Shamrock Surprise, Royal Gems and City of Gold.

Earlier this year Betdigital was approved for a Core Service Provider Associates Certificate by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (see previous report).
