The UK-based online betting company Sportech plc is confident that it will be successful in its GBP 95 million VAT dispute with Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs, due to be heard on appeal on April 29 and 30 this year.

The company also announced that it has successfully launched a new US flagship sports bar, restaurant and betting venue in Connecticut, where it bought a racing business three years ago .

The new facility will allow customers to bet on horse and greyhound racing whilst on the premises, significantly enhancing Sportech’s operation, which last year handled $190 million in bets.

A Sportech spokesman said that opening the new facility and upgrading the MyWinners.com website are significant steps forward.
