Blue Square Bet to get radio coverage

News on 19 Aug 2012

Online betting and sports betting service Blue Square Bet has inked a nine month, six-figure agreement with Absolute Radio that features the popular 3-hour mid-morning Saturday show presented by Mark Crossley.

The partnership will last for the duration of the 2012/2013 football season, with the focus on pre-game betting and the opportunity to discuss live odds on-air and online.

Blue Square’s Alan Alger will call into the show every Saturday to discuss the day’s betting and live odds from the biggest games including Absolute Radio’s featured Barclays Premier League commentary fixture with Jim Proudfoot.

Sponsor credits will run in Crossley’s show to compliment network-wide promotional projects, and the partnership will be supported by online activity, that includes a dedicated micro-site at Absolute Radio.co.uk. Messaging will drive Blue Square Bet’s strap line ‘Enough Said. Just Bet’ and will promote Blue Square Bet online, via tablet or on mobiles to interact with show hosts and presenters.

Jonathan Sykes, marketing manager for Blue Square Bet, said, “The Absolute Radio brand has established a strong identity of entertaining football fans every Saturday.

“We hope to add to the build-up by giving listeners the inside track on our latest offers and prices as well as inviting them to join our campaign to out the nonsense in football. As a no-nonsense brand that gets people straight to the bet we believe we’ve got a lot in common with Absolute Radio’s approach and look forward to working with them.”
