Bodog exits U.S. market

News on 14 Dec 2011

As a prelude to the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group’s licencing agreement expiring at the end of this year, the Bodog brand has announced in an e-mail that it has withdrawn from the U.S. market and will no longer be available to U.S. customers as of today.

U.S.-facing customers, however, have been promised a new look, new name and same great services from the Morris Mohawk Gaming Group by way of “its own proprietary brand” BOVADA.lv, with little or no disruption to the migration of Bodog’s existing customers.

An e-mail from Morris Mohawk Gaming Group reads:

“From today, December 14th, Morris Mohawk Gaming Group will continue to operate as it has for over 4 years, just under its new name, BOVADA, at www. bovada.lv

“Your account and balance has automatically been transferred to the new website and you are able to log in to the site using your existing account details and password.”

Bovada.lv is fully operational and the new website offers upgraded features that include a new flash lobby, upgraded navigation to purchase and cash out chips and a more user-friendly account section.

Despite .lv used traditionally as a country-code top-level domain designated for Latvia, Morris Mohawk’s spin on its use is “to remind our players of Las Vegas, the number one gambling destination in the U.S.  We believe .lv reflects that feeling of fun and entertainment our players have when they visit Las Vegas and it’s our hope for them to have a similar experience when playing with Bovada.lv.”
