The St Kilda Football Club, nicknamed The Saints, an Australian rules football club based in Melbourne, Australia has signed a major sponsorship deal with online wagering firm Centrebet said to be worth an annual  US$1 million.
The Centrebet logo will now adorn all St Kilda playing guernseys as well as advertising and hospitality opportunities following the signing of the new three year agreement.
“Centrebet is at the forefront of their industry and we are extremely pleased to welcome them to the Saints,” said St Kilda General Manager of Sponsorship and Sales, Glenn Tanner.  “They join a number of well regarded and successful entities, who are all proud sponsors of the St Kilda Football Club,” Tanner went on to say.
Centrebet’s media chief Neil Evans said the breakthrough sponsorship deal was a “watershed” partnership planned for three years.  “This is an exciting deal, and breaks new ground for Centrebet.
“It’s the biggest footballing deal of any code we have done in this country and we hope it provides the springboard for the mighty Saints in 2011,” added Evans.
Centrebet was recently in the news with a controversial stadium naming rights deal with Australian Rugby League Club, The Penrith Panthers.
