China to issue new rules on sentencing for online crime

An official of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) has said that China will issue new judicial rules governing sentencing standards by the end of 2010 in relation to cyber attack crimes.  Gu Jian, vice director of the Internet security bureau of the MPS, has said that the new judicial rules will also apply to online pornography, online fraud and online gambling.
At the ‘U.S. – China Internet Industry Forum’ held this week in Beijing, the two countries agreed to strengthen international law enforcement in combating cyber crimes, improve international cooperation mechanisms in this regard, and enhance communication on fighting cyber crimes.
