German lottery wins in the end

News on 10 Apr 2014

A legal dispute that started in 2008 and involved German competition laws has finally been decided by the regional high court in Düsseldorf, with the award of Euro 11.5 million in damages going to MyBet Holdings subsidiary FLUXX.

The German Lottery and Pools Organisation and the German lottery agency Westdeutsche Lotterie (WestLotto) were named in the case, which involved illegal and damaging boycott activity regarding FLUXX, then trading under the JAXX brand.

State lottery companies stopped JAXX from marketing its lottery products in major business areas like petrol stations and supermarkets, causing the company to withdraw from the sector and incur commercial damage.
