Intralot has reportedly approached Greece’s Supreme Administrative Court to block the sale of the sole Greek horse race betting licence awarded to betting firm OPAP, unidentified court officials told Reuters Wednesday.

The Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (HRADF) named Intralot the sole bidder on a tender for the sale of the exclusive 20-year horse race betting licence but scrapped the process when Intralot declined to up its offer of Euro 5.25 million
The tender was subsequently relaunched to ultimately be awarded to betting monopoly OPAP for Euro 40.5 million.

According to Reuters, court documents submitted by Intralot request a restraining order against the HRADF in connection to the sale citing violation of transparency rules, fair competition and equal treatment.

The case will be heard around mid-October 2014, the anonymous court official revealed.
