On Monday police in the Malaysian district of Sepang invited local reporters to watch them crushing any future possibility of computers confiscated from illegal internet gambling operators ever being used again

1,209 machines were battered and crushed by a construction front end loader following the award of a court order for the destruction.

Sepang Asst Comm Mohd Yusoff Awang said the destroyed machines had been seized in anti-online gambling raids on 1,126 premises in the district as part of a continuing police clampdown on illegal online gambling.

“A total of 199 caretakers between the ages of 19 and 39 have been detained, while 1,947 machines were seized in the raids,” he said at a press conference Monday.
