Sportradar has reworked a deal with the Asean Football Federation (AFF) allowing it to continue its coverage and analysis of the global betting markets across all 18 matches of the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014.

In return, Sportradar’s Fraud Detection System will notify the AFF in the event of picking up any suspicious betting patterns.

Retired Lt Gen Dato’ Azzuddin Ahmad, the general secretary of the AFF, said: “We are not blind to the dangers that match fixing and manipulation poses.

“Together with the best monitoring system available, we will be vigilant, precisely so that our fans don’t have to be.”

Under the terms of the deal, Sportradar has also undertaken to educate tournament officials in Vietnam and Singapore via workshops held prior to the kick-off of the tournament.

“We will work tirelessly to help the tournament officials spot the danger signs and to keep the AFF abreast of any suspicious behaviour in the regulated and unregulated betting markets,” added Oscar Brodkin, Sportradar’s senior manager in Asia.
