Zynga appoints CFO

Social gaming firm Zynga has named David Lee (42) as its new chief financial officer and chief accounting officer succeeding Mark Vranesh.

Lee will oversee accounting, corporate finance and investor relations and will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Don Mattrick.

“David has a deep understanding of business management and a sharp financial acumen that will be invaluable to Zynga’s long term growth and success,” said Mattrick. “He has a track record of fostering cultures of excellence and navigating business transformations through sound counsel and strategic planning. David is a seasoned financial executive whose two decades of experience will deepen our leadership capabilities and I am proud to welcome him to Zynga.”

Lee most recently served as senior vice president of enterprise finance for Best Buy, prior to which he held various senior positions with Del Monte Foods.

In related news, Zynga integrated a new slot to its Hit It Rich: Casino Slots on Facebook app.

The game is themed on Zynga’s blockbuster FarmVille brand and provides players the opportunity to earn virtual rewards using the animals and crops that feature in the well known game.
