Colosseum Casino Review

Part of the Mini Vegas group and one of the first licensed Microgaming casinos in the industry, Colosseum Casino was launched in early 1999 and has not only built up a huge player base but also an impeccable reputation over the years.

I've played at the is casino many times in the past but having the software loaded on my desktop means that I haven't visited the actual website in years, and so this review gave me an excuse to do just that.

To be honest, at first glance the homepage doesn't do anything for me...I guess that with such a colossal name and reputation I just expected a very different, more ornate look and feel. It's unique though in that it's not your usual layout, and while some of the information is there, I personally like it all to be clearly laid out in a well designed and user friendly format.

The redeeming feature about this casino though is the advertisement for the 267 games offered at Colosseum Casino, once you see that you can almost put all your personal design preferences aside. And so I decided to check out the Welcome bonus and promotional offerings at this casino.

Welcome Bonus and Promotional Offerings

Colosseum Casino is currently offering a $15 free sign up bonus so that you can test your favorite games as well as a 100% Match bonus up to $100 for New Depositing Players. The bonus is available 72 hours after you sign up (which is quite a wait and if you're impatient will probably put you off) and you do have to fill in a claims form so that you can get it.

You will also be eligible for an extra $20 if you use Neteller as your preferred payment method. As usual, Terms and Conditions do apply and players must wager 5 times their bonus in order to transfer their winnings to a Real Account.

Other than that, all other promotions are Loyalty based and so I decided to check out what they advertise for their program.

Loyalty

Colosseum Casino has a similar Loyalty program to most others out there where the more you spend the more you earn. Basically, every time you play as a real player, you earn Empires which are deposited as cash into your account each month. The only difference is that at Colosseum ALL games apply whereas at some other casinos, only selected games earn points.

I usually opt for the Download versions (as I did previously with Colosseum Casino) because they have the full set of games and additional features that the Flash versions don't offer. That said, and having played on the Flash version in the past I can honestly say that it is equally fun, with amazingly smooth gameplay, so it's really up to you which version you choose.

If you do choose the Download version, the initial file size is 352KB but additional space will be needed for all the additional games that come with this casino. The Video Poker Jackpots include Progressive Jackpot Deuces and SupaJax. I decided to play Jacks or Better and had a good few hands on the multi-hand versions, and my balance soared. Then feeling brave and unable to resist I set out for the progressive Supajax which was a lot of fun but not as kind to me. I decided to stop before I put a dent in my initial balance and hoped for better luck at the Blackjack Tables.

Once again, there are seemingly hundreds of varieties to choose from. I started out with Spanish Blackjack but after a few hands reverted to the more familiar Atlantic City Blackjack. After a good streak and feeling lucky and brave again, I tried the Multi-hand version, which is relatively fast paced and highly entertaining, but eats into your balance if you're not careful and play on the higher end of the wagering limits. All in all the game play is smooth and the graphics are excellent!

Next I checked out a few of the other table games like European Roulette Gold and Cyberstud Poker, then headed on to Red Dog, Keno, Sic Bo and Scratch Card. These are more unusual games and not really my cup of tea, so I headed to the good old Vegas Craps tables to test my luck, which was apparently on a roller coaster ride today! After an initial three wins, I was back on my losing streak and decided to console myself by playing slots.

While there are a number of Reel slots on offer, I skipped these and went straight to my favorites...the Video Slots. For a change I played the Golden Goose Series (yes, all four variations) and then went on to Loaded. For some reason, this game is always lucky for me and I hit an $800 win in less than 10 minutes (jumped up and down for about 5 after that) and finally tried out the new Mega Moolah progressive jackpot which has a minimum payout of $1 million! Here I won $250 after about half an hour and although there are many games I would have loved to have played, I'd been here for a good couple of hours and decided to take my winnings and run!

Cashout, as usual, was a breeze and within a couple of days my money was back in my Neteller account.
