Royal Plaza Casino is another casino operated by the MiniVegas N.V group and is powered by Microgaming software.

This casino promises a casino experience fit for a King and the site visuals are very much themed towards you being treated as Royalty, complete with a Gold and Red velvet, gem encrusted crown. The color scheme is red and gold and the layout is slightly different from most casinos but all of the information you need to find out anything from banking to loyalty is right in front of you and easy to navigate.

Having not played at Royal Plaza Casino before I decided to take a look around the website before getting started and my first stop was to take a look at the Welcome Bonus and Promotional offerings on the site.

I also found myself searching for their promotions page which was also missing...interesting! Loyalty

Royal Plaza Casinos' loyalty program is not much different from most out there and it works on the premise that the more you play the more you get paid. Every time you play as a Real Player, you earn points called Crowns which are deposited as cash into your account each month.

Basically, for every $/€/£10 you play you obtain 1 Crown and all games are valid for this "promotion" (if you can call it that) and you can exchange up to 1000 Crowns for casino cash each month and Royal Plaza casino will pay your bonus directly to your account in the middle of each month.

Somehow, with nothing else on offer, I expected more from their loyalty program.

Download and Registration

Being a Microgaming powered casino, you can play on either the Flash or Download version of Royal Plaza casino, I always play on the download version where possible and so I went about downloading the software. The initial download process shouldn't take more than 15 minutes (depending on the speed of your internet connection), especially at Royal Plaza casino as it has far fewer games than most other Microgaming casinos which usually increase the download time and then still need to load in the background.

Once you have the software downloaded, follow the prompts to install it and then you can play as either a Guest or a Real Player by opening an account with them. I decided to start off with Video Poker for a change and found quite a number of variations of the game in the Royal Plaza games lobby. I selected an Aces and Faces game and proceeded to play for quite a while with my balance increasing with each hand I played. I really was on a role and didn't want to move from this machine which was obviously hot, but Lady Luck took things into her own hands and as soon as I started losing I moved on...although now I had $300 on top of my initial deposit to blow on the other games!

I immediately headed over to the Slots on offer, these include everything from classic three and five line slots to bonus and video slots and you're sure to find most of your Microgaming favorites here. For a change I started off with Goblin's Gold which is a fantasy themed game and is highly entertaining, but I didn't have much luck here so I moved on and played Shark Attack which did nothing but attack my bonus! I then played Genies Gems and it was like getting a wish granted as the machine sang to me and the Golden Lamps began to line up making me a winner of just over $500.

With a balance like that I couldn't resist moving on to the Major Millions Progressive Jackpot and playing the maximum bet on this very promising machine. While this is one of the most well paying progressives, luck, once again eluded me and with my balance back down to $100 I though I'd better move on to the Table games before I ran out of money.

The Table games offering at Royal Plaza covers all the most popular games including Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, Sic Bo, Flip Card, Red Dog, Baccarat, Keno and Poker. Blackjack is usually my favorite table game and so I decided to start there...the nice thing about Microgaming powered casinos is that the game play at the tables has a relatively good pace and is very smooth with excellent graphics. I started off with a few really bad hands and then suddenly in the tradition of the day it changed again and my next 5 hands were pure poetry! Hoping to continue in the same vein I moved on to the Roulette Tables which are always exciting and selected European Roulette as the odds are better on it. Betting on 23 (my lucky number) I held my breath as the wheel spun and landed on 21! After half an hour without a win I wasn't getting anywhere and decided to finish up the last of my balance on the Craps tables. Although an exhilarating game, I always think that this one is better in the movies and I ended up deciding to cashin the remaining $50 of my balance.

At the cashier I put in my withdrawal request which was quick and easy enough to do and within a few days I received the money back.

I got a relatively quick response which addressed all of my questions in a simple yet professional manner which is all that one really asks.

The Verdict

There are both ups and downs to playing at Royal Plaza casino. The downs are the lack of bonus and promotional offerings but if this doesn't worry you at all then this is a great place to play as it has great games, safe, secure banking and good customer support.

While it's not my favorite Microgaming Casino, you will still have a very good experience here and like I said earlier, at least you never have to worry about meeting wagering requirement and reading all the terms and conditions of bonus offerings which is quite refreshing.
