Just as with a pass-line bet, you should take odds with a come-line bet. When a point is established for your come bet, the dealer will move that chip to a position in the place bet box that corresponds to your position at the table.
You may not touch those chips, so to make an odds bet you must announce to the dealer that you’d like odds on that bet. Since there is not much room in the place bet box, the dealer will place the odds bet on top of the come-line bet, offset just a little to indicate that it is payable at true odds.
Let’s place one more come bet. You already have action on the pass line (the point is four). Let’s say the first come bet roll was a six, so your bet is moved to place bet box six. Six results could occur:
• The shooter rolls a four. You win your pass-line bet (and accompanying odds). Your first come bet (six is the point) is still in action, and your second come bet is moved to place bet box four.
• The shooter rolls a seven. You lose both your pass-line and first come bets (and accompanying odds), but you win your second come bet.
• The shooter rolls an 11. You win your second come bet, and the pass-line and first come-line bets remain.
• The shooter rolls a two, three or 12. You lose your second come bet, and the pass-line and first come-line bets remain.
• The shooter rolls a five, eight, nine or ten. The dealer moves your second come bet to the corresponding place bet box, and the pass-line and first come-line bets remain. You now have action on three separate numbers.
• The shooter rolls a six. The dealer pays you for your first come bet, along with the odds, and slides the chips to you. He then takes the second come bet and places it in place bet box six. You still have your pass-line bet, and now have a come-line bet on the six.
A couple of things to note. Since the come-line bets are just like the pass line, you may not remove them until they have been resolved. Once again, the casino will allow you to take down your odds bets on come-line bets at any time.
