South African land casino deal for Dragonfish

News on 28 Sep 2009

Dragonfish, the quaintly named business-to-business division of online gambling group 888.com, has secured another major deal, this time with the South African land gambling group Tsogo Sun Gaming.
The multi-year deal is propitious, with regulated online gambling on the horizon in South Africa, and Dragonfish will supply all that Tsogo needs to become a successful online gambling brand.
The agreement follows close on the heels of an important signing with US giant Harrah’s Interactive to facilitate the online gambling strategies of that company in Europe.
Gabi Campos, managing director of Dragonfish said of the partnership, “This partnership is the first of many targeted at regulated markets, where Dragonfish’s partners operate under local licenses and enjoy the benefits of such regulatory arrangements.”
Campos revealed that the companies will set up a joint venture to initially launch a sportsbook offering, going on from there to introduce online casino, poker and bingo operations.
888’s latest half year report showed an impressive 42 percent year on year growth for Dragonfish.
