Management musical chairs at Mangas

News on 9 Dec 2009

It appears that differences of management opinion on the future direction of online gambling company Expekt.com have led to a significant change in the executive structure at the company, which along with Betclic and Bet-At-Home is part of the Paris-based Mangas Gaming group.
In a brief statement issued mid-week, Mangas chief exec Isabelle Parize revealed that former Expekt chief exec Per Widerström and CFO Joe Sanchez had left the company.  Parize advised that this change would result in the following new appointments:
* Nicolas Béraud will be acting as interim CEO of Expekt in addition to his current responsibilities as Mangas chief operating officer.
* Thomas Winter will be acting as interim COO of Expekt in addition to his current responsibility as Betclic COO reporting to Beraud.
* Maarten Vanhecke moves in to Expekt as interim CFO. Vanhecke is a senior professional who has a wide experience in structuring organisations.
* Tarquin Henderson becomes acting marketing chief over and above his current responsibility as Mangas Gaming CMO.
The new management team will be joined by Lisa Lombardi, Legal and Regulatory Manager; Dinos Stranomitis, Sportsbook Trading Manager and Michael Mifsud, Human Resources Manager, all of whom will report to Thomas Winter until further notice.
It is not known where Widerstrom and Sanchez will take up new positions; the Mangas statement said only: “Their departure is due to different strategic views in how to move Expekt forward. We thank them for the work and commitment they have shown and wish them success in their future endeavours.”
