More online gambling arrests in Operation Dadu

News on 19 Apr 2012

Operation Dadu, the Malaysian police’s ongoing drive against illegal internet gambling, resulted in more equipment confiscations and arrests Wednesday night as police parties raided eleven premises scattered across the country.

In one raid, a photographic shop had been set up in a shopping complex as a front for internet gambling. After a tip-off, police maintained surveillance on the property before sending in a raiding party of twenty officers in a late night bust. 43 computers were seized and 5 men arrested – one a civil servant.

The Star Online reported on other Op Dadu raids on ten other premises operating as mini internet casinos had been successful, but police spokesmen had not yet released full details of the actions, saying only that equipment had been seized.
