Brit arrested for gambling at Singapore tennis tournament

Singapore police called to the Singapore Indoor Stadium at 10.20 pm one evening this week arrested a 20-year-old British man accused of illegal gambling under the Singapore Remote Gaming Act, presumably using a mobile device.

The stadium was hosting the World Tennis Association end-of-season finals at the time, a championship featuring the top eight female singles players and doubles pairings.

A spokesman for the British High Commission in Singapore told Reuters they were “aware of the arrest and had provided consular support”.
