Busy week for Malaysian police

Malaysian police spokesman Senior Asst Comm Rohaimi Md Isa revealed in a press conference Friday that widespread raids throughout Malaysia over the past week have resulted in the seizure of 4,422 computer sets and the arrest on illegal online gambling charges of 703 persons.

The spokesman said that the raids were part of a large operation which included daily police actions in various parts of the country.

“The raids were focused on hotspots,” Isa said. “We are tasked with collecting actionable intelligence in order to curb illegal gambling in the country.

“Police have not and will not let up on operations against vice activities, especially illegal gambling and prostitution,” he added.
