U.S. casino games developer PLAYSTUDIOS has acquired the Tel-Aviv-based game studio credited with creating its latest mobile app for an undisclosed consideration.

Scene53 and PLAYSTUDIOS jointly developed the new POP! Slots app which allows players to play in groups, share jackpots, and interact with friends as they explore virtual versions of iconic Las Vegas resorts.

PLAYSTUDIOS will establish Scene53 as an independently operated studio, PLAYSTUDIOS Israel (PSI) with the Tel Aviv team now focusing on growing the POP! Slots product while also pursuing other opportunities in the casual, free-to-play casino category.

“Scene53 built an incredible platform for running multi-player, real-time games and hosting virtual events in a 3D setting,” Andrew Pascal, chief executive officer of PLAYSTUDIOS said.

POP! Slots takes its place alongside PLAYSTUDIOS other casual casino games, myVEGAS Slots, my KONAMI Slots, and Lucky Life.
