Skill gaming site World Winner.com and Sony Pictures Consumer Products have announced that the popular and long-established Jeopardy! cash competitions are now available online, for the first time enabling game lovers to put their knowledge to the test and play to win real cash and prizes by outscoring Internet opponents.
A free flash version of Jeopardy! is also offered on GSN.com, which is powered by World Winner. As Jeopardy! becomes part of the cross-platform experience on GSN, World Winner.com and GSN.com, game show fans will increasingly have a new way to play both on-air and online.
“Our players love trivia games, and Jeopardy! arguably created the category,” said Peter Blacklow, president of World Winner and VP of GSN Digital. “We know fans’ passion for the classic game show doesn’t stop at TV, and now we’re giving our GSN viewers and all Jeopardy! fans another way to experience their favorite quiz show. By challenging each other for cash online as if they were actual contestants, trivia buffs everywhere have a chance to become champions of online Jeopardy!.”
In World Winner’s online cash game version of Jeopardy!, game lovers compete by selecting one of three categories and a money value from the board to reveal a hidden answer. They are then presented with a list of four possible corresponding questions, from which they must select the correct one to boost their bank balance. A Daily Double, Final Jeopardy! and a time bonus heighten the challenge.
“Millions of online players got in the game for cash when we partnered with WorldWinner to bring Wheel of Fortune, one of our most popular television shows, to an even fiercer set of online competitors,” said Gregory Economos, Senior Vice President, Business Affairs & Operations, Sony Pictures Consumer Products. “Now, we are bringing a game buzzer to every household with the online cash version of Jeopardy!, the game show legend that has delighted television audiences for 25 years.”
