Another UIGEA hearing scheduled

Following the postponed implementation of the UIGEA regulations, the House Financial Services Committee chairman Barney Frank has scheduled a hearing on Thursday, December 3, to discuss Internet gambling and the opportunity to effectively regulate the industry.
Pending legislation introduced by Chairman Frank in May 2009, the Internet Gambling Regulation, Consumer Protection, and Enforcement Act (H.R. 2267), seeks to establish a framework to permit licensed gambling operators to accept wagers from individuals in the U.S. and mandate a number of significant consumer protections.
