Notorious former lobbyist speaks on DoJ gambling policy switch

The US Department of Justice’s dramatic about-turn on internet gambling and the Wire Act continued to excite mainstream media interest this week, with the Reuters television service asking notorious former lobbyist Jack ‘Casino Jack’ Abramoff, who did jail time for stepping over the line as a lobbyist in Washington, for his views.

Abramoff – who is no longer involved in lobbying – opined that the change will likely intensify online gambling legalisation efforts at state and federal level, and predicted an increase in lobbying activity that frequently involves large amounts of money in political donations.
