Amaya to sponsor Canadian start-up function

News on 24 Sep 2015

Canadian online gambling giant Amaya Inc. has announced that it is to become the major sponsor for the Start-up Open House scheduled for Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver on October 29 and in Waterloo and Quebec City on November 5.

The event is designed to bring together Canadian business and the public to promote small Canadian start-ups, a sector with which Amaya CEO David Baazov clearly identifies.

“We’re proud to have grown from a small group of entrepreneurs in Montreal to a global leader in online services. I am keenly aware of the challenges entrepreneurs face, especially in the current economic landscape,” the online gambling executive said in a statement this week.

“It’s critical to support the next generation of start-ups as they build companies that will become tomorrow’s industry giants. Start-up Open House is doing great work by providing an avenue for entrepreneurs to gain visibility, and we are extremely proud to support this initiative.”
