Cambodian police pounce on illegal online gambling ring

Cambodia police in the Preah Sihanouk province report that they have carried out an anti-online gambling swoop which has netted 30 Chinese nationals, currently being held on illegal online gambling charges.

Provincial police chief Choun Narin told Khmer News that the group was arrested following an investigation by specialist officers under the authority of provincial court prosecutor Lim Bunheng.

“The suspects have been detained for questioning and police are gathering evidence, including computers and other related materials,” he said, revealing that the raid took place in the suburb of Chamkar Spei.
