China lottery sales decline slightly in June

The Chinese Ministry of Finance has released its monthly lottery sales numbers for June 2017, reporting that overall sales fell 0.3 percent to RMB 33.8 billion (US$5 billion).
Although Welfare lottery sales rose 88.8 percent to RMB 17.8 billion, Sports lottery sales declined 8.9 percent to RMB 16 billion, the figures show.
On a year-to-date basis overall sales in the first six months of 2017 are up 5.5 percent y-o-y at RMB 205 billion, with Welfare sales up 3.7 percent to RMB 106.1 billion, and Sports sales up 7.6 percent at RMB 98.9 billion.
