Gaming Realms in five-year Slingo deal with Scientific Games

Online gambling content developer Gaming Realms announced Thursday that it has inked a five-year content and distribution agreement with Scientific Games, although it did not provide any detail on the financial arrangements surrounding the deal.

Following the agreement, Scientific Games will have exclusive rights to produce Slingo-branded [slots-bingo] slot machines and to distribute them to the international land gambling industry. The agreement includes usage beyond slots on VLTs and on-premises handheld gambling devices.

This is not the first time the two companies have worked together commercially on Slingo; in a prior deal SG was authorised to produce scratch lottery tickets using the Slingo brand, a successful collaboration which resulted in the generation of over a billion dollars in ticket sales across 36 US states and three international lottery markets (see previous reports).

The deal was considered one of the most successful such agreements within the global lottery industry.

Gaming Realms backers will welcome a provision in the agreement whereby SG will pay a guaranteed minimum royalty revenue stream for the initial two years.

Gaming Realms acquired the Slingo brand and assets from Real Networks mid-2015 (see previous reports) and has been building the brand in the international market.

Gaming Realms CEO, Patrick Southon, said in a company statement Thursday announcing the SG deal that the agreement was an extension of a very successful relationship with Scientific Games which would provide opportunities for the further development of the Slingo brand, particularly in the bricks and mortar sector of the industry.
