The Genting online and land gambling group has signalled its intentions to ramp up digital activity with the appointment of Jeremy Taylor as managing director for interactive operations.

Taylor, a former Betsson executive, is based in Malta and has started with an assessment of online casino, live dealer and sportsbook opportunities for the company in regulated markets across Europe

Genting has increased live dealer activity with streaming from two of its land casinos in Birmingham and Manchester, with plans to launch a third service from its Palm Beach casino in London’s Mayfair.

Genting group md for UK, Mark Sergeant, said in a statement Monday that management had identified the growing potential of Genting’s online casino and sportsbook brands and is preparing to expand into its next phase of evolutionary growth.

Referring to Taylor’s appointment, Sergeant said: “As retail casino experts, we needed a heavyweight online and mobile gaming executive to lead the interactive business. Jeremy is the ideal man for the job and we’re looking forward to seeing the business grow under his leadership from our new Maltese base”.
