News on 12 Oct 2017

The first Responsible Gambling Week organised by the Industry Group for Responsible Gambling (IGRG) starts today (Thursday), encouraging awareness and conversation around the issue of problem gambling and how to avoid or ameliorate its impact.

Wide use had been made of the Responsible Gambling Week video, which can be viewed here:

along with other publicity drives.

The IGRG claims that over 10,000 land and online venues have supported the week-long campaign, with more than 120,000 gambling firm employees briefed on the subject in general and the week in particular.

Participating companies are deploying relevant posters, leaflets and banners, while online operators are using informative pop-ups and social media activity to ensure their players are better informed on responsible gambling.

Problem gambling charity GamCare is running information points and internet chat rooms throughout the UK on the topic, along with information on available responsible gambling tools for players.

From Monday October 16 a live Twitter feed will be available where experts from the gambling industry will respond to questions between 12pm and 1pm sent to @RGWeek2017 with #RGWLive
