Inspired Gaming to provide virtual games for Nigerian betting shops

Inspired Gaming has announced that its virtual sports products are now live throughout some of the 1,900 retail betting shops belonging to the Surebet247 group in Nigeria.

The shops will be fed from a satellite television system through which Surebet247 will offer nine of Inspired’s Virtual Sports and games – horses, dogs, cars, speedway, cycling, tennis, football, roulette and keno, initially to 1,100 shops, with a further 800 outlets scheduled to go live later this year.

A recent PricewaterhouseCoopers’s report assessed Nigeria as one of the fastest-growing African countries for gaming, with a 16.3 percent compound annual increase in gross gambling revenues likely over the next five years.

Steve Rogers, a senior vice president at Inspired, said: “The introduction of our Virtuals will help Surebet247 to capture more player demand for betting entertainment products, due to the high frequency of the events, which can be scheduled for every three minutes.”

Sheriff Olaniyan, Surebet247 CEO, said that the Virtual Football product was already proving to be wildly popular with Nigerian punters.
