Kindred achieves EU recommendation

Kindred Group (formerly Unibet) has become the first operator to successfully meet the requirements of the EU Recommendation on Consumer Protection and Responsible Gambling following an external audit.

The EU Recommendation, which was adopted as part of the 2012 EU Action Plan on Online Gambling, is the first objective standard for industry best practices across the European Single Digital Market.

An independent audit, conducted by accredited audit body eCOGRA, examined key elements of Kindred Group’s operations focusing on the six core principals of the EU Recommendation: Transparent information and communications; commercial communication (advertising and sponsorship); verification processes; measures to prevent minors from gambling; responsible gaming tools; and employee training specifically on identifying problem gambling.

“Kindred Group continues to raise the bar for responsible gambling and customer trust,” Henrik Tjärnström, chief executive officer of Kindred Group said. “The successful completion of this independent audit once again demonstrates that we have the right practices, technology and people in place to provide a safe and secure experience for our customers”.
