New Bitcoin sportsbook launches

News on 2 Jun 2016

Coin Gaming, the operator of bitcoin-denominated casino Bitcasino.io, has launched Sportsbet.io, a new bitcoin-only sportsbook, in good time for the Euro 2016 football championships.

Part of the launch marketing campaign for the new enterprise is an exclusive competition for players registering an account at Sportsbet.io with tickets to Euro 2016 matches as prizes, including the finals.

Licensed in Curacao, Sportsbet.io will provide players with a dedicated, customised VIP programme that features a personal hostess and 24/7 live chat.

The site will offer over 350,000 pre-match events per year, with a peak of 70,000 events during prime months, along with a comprehensive live product with hundreds of ‘in-play’ markets available on major sports fixtures.

Company spokesperson Joe Jordan revealed in a press statement Thursday that Sportsbet hopes to replicate the performance of sister site Bitcasino.io, which he said has an average winnings withdrawal time of 2.5 minutes.

“When it can take upwards of 24 hours for some traditional bookmakers to pay out, we believe this will give us real differentiation in the market,” said Jordan.

Sportbet.io has a mobile-first design to service the estimated two-thirds of bet that are placed via mobile devices, and offers quality UX and UI across all platforms.

Players will be able to bet with their own bitcoins, or exchange for local currency on the site, via Sportsbet.io’s broker integration with Cubits and Coinify.
