NEW PARLAY DIRECTOR
And an intriguing deal
Parlay Entertainment, a Canadian software developer in the online gambling industry, has announced an intriguing deal and the appointment of a new director.
Chief executive Scott White revealed that an associate and shareholder of the company, Soren Mirzai, has joined the board of directors, whilst Anthony De Werth and Brian Barr have resigned.
“I am delighted that Søren has agreed to join our board and I would like to thank Tony and Brian for their years of service to Parlay and for their sage guidance,” said White.
Mirzai is a well known personality in the affiliate marketing space, and M.D. of SunCore Innovation AS, a Danish company he founded with Jan Pedersen in 2001. In addition to operating the popular information website Casinoportalen in partnership with Mikkel Pedersen, the company provides gambling-focused websites in Denmark, Sweden, Germany, the United Kingdom and Turkey, and has plans for further European expansion.
Mirzai is a graduate of the Aarhus Business School (January 2004) and holds a Masters degree in Business Administration and Commercial Law.
The intriguing deal dates back to January this year and involves the issue of  50,000 common shares in Parlay to an unidentified third party “pursuant to the acquisition of” certain URLs and an unspecified customer data base from that third party by Parlay Games Limited.
The third party was formerly a licensee of Parlay Games Limited, and following a request for more detail on the transaction by the Toronto Stock Exchange, White has revealed that the issue of the stock was not the only consideration for the assets acquired. Parlay Games Limited also agreed to pay the third party GBP 110,000 in installments, with full payment by June 30, 2011.
