Online gambling family on UK super-rich list

The latest annual Sunday Times Rich List – a compilation of the wealthiest people in Britain – has bet365.com owners the Coates family among the 107 named in the Super Rich List.

The list is the definitive guide to the 1,000 wealthiest people in Britain, plus the 50 richest under 30, the music millionaires, the biggest charitable donations and top political donors, and the wealthiest 250 people in Ireland.

The Coates family – father Peter and siblings Denise and John – are described as Britain’s first betting billionaires, having seen their family fortune soar from GBP 925 million last year (see previous  report) to GBP 1.2 billion over the past twelve months.

In regional terms, the Coates are fourth on the West Midlands Rich List.
