OPAP owners make a run on Turkish lottery

News on 27 Jun 2014

Czech investment groups KKCG and Emma Capital – perhaps better known as the majority owners of would-be Greek gambling monopoly OPAP – have combined with Italian gaming technology company GTech to file for a licence to operate Turkey’s national lottery Milli Piyango

KKCG told the Reuters news agency that the consortium was also in advanced talks with Turkish investment firm Bilgili Group to join the bid.

Turkey’s privatisation authority has offered a 10-year licence to run the lottery, and the KKGC-Emma-GTech bid was submitted on the deadline today (Friday).
