Online gambling message boards lit up this week following the launch of the Tabcorp-Sun newspaper betting website Sunbets in the UK market, boosted by a reportedly GBP 3 million publicity and advertising campaign.

Impatient punters complained winning payments are being delayed, and they had been required – sometimes on multiple occasions – to send in an unreasonable number of verification documents to a vetting department that appeared to be understaffed, especially over the weekend.

Long waits on the help-line exacerbated the situation from a player viewpoint.
