Marketing Magazine reports that former O2 Telefonica and Moneysupermarket exec Paul Troy has been appointed global director of brands at online gambling group Gamesys and will be responsible for international marketing strategy planning, a new post in the company.

Among the brands falling within his area of responsibility are Jackpotjoy, The Sun Bingo, CaesarsCasino.com and Virgin Games, which Gamesys acquired 12 months ago .

Troy last post was at O2 where he was head of marketing and consumer strategy and contributed to the development of the brand’s successful ‘Be More’ advertising campaign.

Having lost Troy to the gambling industry, O2 has evened things up by taking on former Paddy Power and Sky marketer Danny Russell as business intelligence general manager.

Troy told Marketing Magazine: “With the launch of the Virgin games brand in the United States, it’s an exciting time to join Gamesys.com as it expands globally”
