News on 7 Nov 2013

New Jersey land casino Tropicana is ready for its online gambling debut when the state’s new regulations come into force later this month, and the website is now open for players to register for the soft launch that will precede the full monty scheduled for November 26.

To register, punters must be at least 21 years of age and physically present in the Garden State.

The soft launch period is expected to commence November 21, when selected players who have pre-registered will be able to download Tropicana’s i-gaming software and play for real money.

Assuming that all goes well in this initial phase, the operation will be open to the public at large (and physically in the state) from November 26.

News of the Tropicana move follows similar a arrangement made earlier this week by Golden Nugget .

Earlier this year, Tropicana announced a partnership with online casino and bingo operator Gamesys, the successful European firm behind the Jackpotjoy.com enterprise.

Other Atlantic City land casinos that have been granted online licensing in New Jersey so far include Trump Taj Mahal, Trump Plaza and the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. It is understood that a licence for Caesars Entertainment is in process and imminent.
