More detail on Mega Moolah winner (Update)

News on 8 Jul 2009

Further to our earlier report on the winner of a $1 171 777 Mega Moolah progressive jackpot this week, Unibet has now released further details. A 48-year-old man in northern Sweden is the lucky winner…and he is the third millionaire player to emerge from Unibet’s online casino this year.
“Sleepless nights, but in a good way…” is how Unibet regular L summed up his first night of being a millionaire after it was confirmed last Friday night that he had acquired instant wealth on the Mega Moolah progressive slot.
L joins the Unibet millionaire’s leader board in second place, overtaking third positioned Nils from Norway who won Euro 1.1 million in January of this year on the “Arabian Nights” slots machine. Topping the millionaire’s club at Unibet is still Dutch player M with a massive win of Euro 4.3 million only three weeks ago on the “Mega Fortune” progressive slot machine .
Big money does not necessarily equate to major change, according to L: “With the winnings I will definitely pamper my daughter, buy a new car and travel around Europe to experience international football matches. No big changes needed, I like my life as it is now and it will surely even become better thanks to this win!” he said.
Details on another big winner this week are currently awaited from the Microgaming-powered Casino Action online casino, which has reported a $504 934.87 jackpot hit by a player in the Netherlands on a stake of only $40. It is understood that the win was also on the Mega Moolah progressive.
In April 2008, Klaus E from Finland hit the $5.5 million Mega Moolah jackpot from just a 50 cent bet, making Internet gambling history at another casino in the same Casino Rewards group.
And talking about good fortune, there’s a lottery player in Florida who is hard to beat.
James Bush of South Daytona is one of three $1 million winners to claim a Firecracker Millionaire Raffle prize so far from the Florida Lottery. He bought the ticket in Port Orange.
But this isn’t the first time the 50-year-old has claimed a winning ticket.
On his way to Florida Lottery headquarters, he bought a Billion Dollar Blockbuster scratch-off ticket and won $1 000. And in 2007, he won $500 000 in the Gold Rush scratch-off game!
