The legal action launched by Account Services Corporation in the United States to secure the release of $14 million of its monies frozen by federal enforcement actions in June is currently in limbo following the indefinite postponement of the hearing.
Court officials said that the postponement of Friday’s hearing was necessary in order to give the court sufficient time to study legal arguments submitted in brief form by legal representatives of Account Services and the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York.
The seized monies are believed to be principally winnings in transit to online poker players from major online poker websites, which were seized under sealed warrants granted by two judges to federal enforcement officials.
