Malaysian police officers from the Special Task Force for Anti-Vice, Gaming and Gangsterism in Bukit Aman raided four areas in Kuala Selangor, Tanjung Karang, Jeram and Bestari Jaya over the weekend, dismantling 21 illegal online gambling dens, and arrested 28 people.

The commander of the task force, Senior Assistant Commissioner Ahrasa Khairi said those arrested included both operators and players, and revealed that 132 officers were involved in the coordinated operation.

Cash, equipment and other evidence was seized by the raiding parties, he added.

SAC Khairi noted that the police had been investigating the illegal venues for six months prior to mounting the raid.
