Microgaming operators exclude French online punters

News on 10 Jul 2010

French player reports surfacing Friday indicate that online casino and poker operators powered by Microgaming are excluding French gamblers in compliance with the new liberalising laws which came into effect early June.
Those affected are apparently being assured that their positive account balances are immediately available for withdrawal.
Under the new laws, only companies in possession of a French gambling licence issued by regulator ARJEL may operate in the country, and the move is seen as an initiative to comply in the new environment.
Microgaming and 888.com formed a partnership earlier this year targeted on the French market . It is expected that once licensed, the partnership will operate a dedicated French website in full compliance with ARJEL requirements.
