French gambling group to launch UK online casino

Barrière Interactive Gaming, the online subsidiary of French group Lucien Barrière Hotels & Casinos is planning to launch a 3D Internet casino later this year under the brand LeCroupier.com. Advanced graphics and software technologies are being used to create a cutting edge venue that will include avatars and a host of casino games and player facilities.
A company spokesman said this week that LeCroupier.com is inspired by Lucien Barrière’s own bricks and mortar casinos, and will be an Internet replica of the world-famous casino in Deauville. “Whatever players find in Deauville, they will find in LeCroupier.com –from the plush furnishings to the range and quality of casino games on the main floor,” he said.
The first online casino to utilise next-generation technologies traditionally found in video games, the 3D version of LeCroupier.com will offer graphics “twice as advanced” than other casinos currently on the market. A 2D version will also be available through LeCroupier.com following launch.
Jon Strock, Chief Operating Officer, LeCroupier.com said, “With our 47-year heritage in managing 40 land-based casinos, LeCroupier.com is uniquely positioned to provide the best online casino in the market. Anyone entering LeCroupier.com will be able to immerse themselves in the same fun and sophisticated environment they would enjoy in the real-life Lucien Barrière casino in Deauville.”
With the UK the only market with clear legislation and authorisation of online gambling, a ‘for cash’ version of LeCroupier.com will initially only be launched in the UK. A ‘just for fun’ version of LeCroupier.com will also be available for those aged 18 or over.
LeCroupier.com will be available in March 2009, with further games including poker, betting and a mobile version planned throughout 2009.
