AAMS signs MOU with anti mafia body

The Italian regulatory body l’Amministrazione autonoma dei monopoli di Stato (AAMS) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Anti-Mafia Directorate (Direzione Nazionale Antimafia or DNA) undertaking a long term view in the combating of illegal gambling operated by organised crime syndicates.

The MOU, valid for five years with an option to renew, allows for the exchange of data and information between the two bodies to counter the infiltration of crime into Italy’s gambling sector.

AAMS has agreed to report any anomalies in betting patterns and the like to DNA who will provide analytical and data processing support, the results of which will be utilised by the regional prosecutor offices.
