Alberta investigating online gambling

The Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) is looking to add online and mobile gambling to its existing gaming channels with the publication of a negotiated request for proposal (RFP).

RFP AB-2018-07350 details the addition of online gambling (played on a home computer or mobile device) for the delivery of lottery and gaming products to Albertans of a legal age within provincial borders.

Forty-two companies have already registered their interest including The Stars Group, Vantix, Western Canada Lottery Corp, Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority, Playtech, Interaction Gaming, IGT, GVC, FDJ Gaming Solutions, Camelot Global, BC Lottery Corp, Bede Gaming, Bally Gaming, Aristocrat Technologies, Ainsworth and 888 Holdings.

The RFP closes February 28, 2019.
