Bet Bright appoint executive chairman

Irish bookmaker BetBright has announced the appointment of Rich Ricci as executive chairman.

Ricci (51) is a colourful character who is as well known in the corporate environment, having served as co-chief executive of Barclay’s corporate and investment banking, as he is on the horse race circuit.

He is considered to be one of the leading jump owners in Ireland and owns a number of top racehorses.

The appointment was announced at a press conference held by BetBright announcing sponsorship of the “Cheltenham BetBright Cup”.

Ricci believes the bookmaker can penetrate the overcrowded and consolidating UK betting sector saying he feels BetBright, being founded by movers in the technology industry, has “built a better mousetrap than others”.

“I had interest from BetBright last summer and [sic] come on board as an executive. It’s interesting and great to be associated with something I have a real passion for,” Ricci said.
